Business Studies at South Chelsea College

The Business Studies Department offers Association of Business Studies (ABE) programmes leading to internationally respected and accredited qualifications. Students on these programmes come from a wide range of backgrounds, bringing with them appropriate prior learning experience.

The Association of Business Executives (ABE) is a professional organisation offering public examinations in Business Administration and Travel and Tourism at diploma and advanced diploma levels. To sit these examinations you have to become a member of the ABE, and the College will assist students in applying for membership. A small membership fee will apply.

Students are placed on a ‘Graduate Diploma route’ where they will undertake a three year programme at Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) levels 4 and 5, leading to a further one year study for an advanced professional qualification from the ‘Association of Business Executives’ (ABE), at QCF level 6. This Graduate Diploma qualification is the academic equivalent to a UK University Honours Degree and it is recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

Successful SCC Business Studies Students gain internationally recognised ABE qualifications. Students completing their Graduate Diploma in Business Management are invited by several British Universities to apply either for their MBA or for the final year of a BA Hons Degree programme in Business Management or in International Business Management via a one year “top-up” course.
